Destie was my first bitch from Monica and she came to live with me when she was 14months old, she was a handful for Monica and I agreed to take her on. I only had Boris at home at the time and he was thrilled to have a companion! We ventured into the show ring here and there with reasonable successes and Destie also trained in obedience, she had some of the most flashy heelwork although we never actually got around to competing!

With Monica’s approval naturally I wanted to use Boris with her, I was thrilled when Monica suggested I should have a vested interest in her well established and respected affix ‘Konavlje’ and so the mating was agreed and my very first litter was bred under the Konavlje affix; this combination did not disappoint producing my Fenn and Donna Cox’s Travis, without Destie I would not have the wonderful dogs I have today… together Boris and Destie gave me the very foundations to build on. I will always be forever grateful to Monica for these two gorgeous dogs and all the advice she freely bestowed upon me.

Destie was a very affectionate girl and once Fenn her daughter stayed after the litter Destie started to withdraw a little and was less forward as Boris and Fenn were so forefront! It was decided that my friends would take her while I was away on holiday to see how she would fare as an only dog. Destie flourished and was so happy being the center of attention that she stayed for the rest of her years in my friend’s care. It wasn’t the easiest of things to do but her happiness was apparent and we owed that to her!
